Led By Shallow Traits

I cannot help that I trust those

who look or speak like me more

than those who don’t at all:

if I say I don’t trust the man who

could pass for my twin brother

they’d think I don’t trust myself.

Recognition gives an advantage

when working on a relationship;

so resemblances do matter.

But try not to be biased and look

deeper than the shallow traits to see

how much we really are alike.
