I Want to Be Good

I desire and even long to be good

though not knowing how that goal

would have to be defined,

which road I would have to take

to be really sure I will achieve

to be the way I would be convinced

to experience as the truth

of how being good is supposed to feel.

Nevertheless, still longing to be good

and to contribute to more joy in life,

not caring about those who wonder why

but just because it feels like worth the try.
